Welcome to Montana Cast Iron!
UPDATE: Due to a number of factors outside our control, we are no longer able to accept any additional work. As such, our physical restoration services are no longer available. We apologize for any inconvenience.
Montana Cast Iron was started out of a love of all things cast iron. From cooking to tools, iron has been used by people to get their job done for thousands of years. Without iron tools, we would have almost nothing we take for granted today. Just think about it. Where would the world be without iron?
Cast iron cookware, specifically, has been an integral part of our society for nearly as long as iron has been around. As technology advanced, cast iron cookware popularity started to fall off in favor of more modern pots and pans. New manufacturing methods led to “non-stick”, lower-maintenance aluminum and stainless cookware which is functional, yet is ultimately disposable.
Cast iron skillets, for many, are now relics handed down through generations. Old Griswold and Wagner pans have become family heirlooms, displayed on the hutch, or hanging on the wall. Many of them, sadly, will never see the heat of a flame again.
At Montana Cast Iron, we believe that the restoration and reconditioning of rusty old cast iron cookware, as well as education on proper care, can bring cast iron back into the kitchen. Our ultimate goal is to work ourselves out of a job by educating and empowering others, and making cast iron the norm again. We’re here to help!
